S Tec 50 Autopilot question

I have a STEC 50 autopilot..

Works great - except...

If I am flying using the autopilot and put it to standby it will not release the roll/turn it will stay locked on... if I turn it off; it lets go.

Ideas?

What do you mean by “standby”? I just want to be sure you don’t mean STB mode, which is “Wing Stabilizer Mode”.

If you read the manual you will find STB is not standby and if you put the unit in STB and turn the dial you can turn the plane incrementally from zero to standard rate turn.
