I'm a rusty pilot who has relocated to the Huntersville, NC area. looking for an airport and 172 or Warrior to get checked out in. Or an Archer. only flown once or twice in the past 2 years. Thinking Concord regional is the closest to me. Any help appreciated.

Concord is definitely the closest but Wilgrove is not too far. I'm pretty certain that both locations have places that rent 172s.
 
from northish to southish: and there may be others I'm leaving out:
  • rowan county (@FlySince9 can chime in on availability)
  • lk norman (race city or something like that has a 172)
  • concord (vla has a 172 and a cherokee 180 and there's also a cirrus shop on the field and I think one diamond)
  • wilgrove (172, cherokee 140, archer that's been off the schedule for a while)
  • goosecreek (no idea what they have)
  • monroe (lots of 172's, very busy)

I also live in Huntersville,
I belong to a club at KRUQ (14 members and 1 really nice 1981 Skyhawk)
