Well Kelly and I are heading out this afternoon to pick up the new airplane. Our route will be from SW Missouri to Eastport Maine. First stop will be in the Richmond, IN area Wednesday night. Second stop will be in the Easton, PA area Thursday night. We plan on being in East Machias, ME Friday night, load the plane on the trailer Saturday and head back that afternoon. We will be in NYC Sunday and head out Sunday night. If any of you are along our route, send me an email or PM if you have time to visit. I will be checking my messages along the way.

What did you find? There's a few of us in the Plymouth Meeting / Lansdale area of PA, around KLOM (wings) and KUKT (quakertown) just off the Northeast Extension of the PA turnpike. About 20-25 minutes south of Easton.

If you need a break on the way up or back, give a call on my cell (sent in a PM) and I might be able to get away from the house for a little bit.

I'm in Williamsport, PA, will be heading to NYC tomorrow afternoon and staying there through Sunday afternoon, so I'll be in NYC when you pass through. Parking the trailer in NYC is challenging, but doable. What I usually find is that the streets with meters are the only ones where there are enough spots to fit a truck and trailer, but you may get lucky.

I'll venture a guess that if you're trailering the plane back it needs some work before becoming airworthy?

Awesome, love a good road trip! I hope the weather holds out for you.

What route shall you be following in Maine? I'm near Bath(30sm beyond Portland if you take 295 and U.S. Route #1.

Today we are in Wallingford, CT head north to Bangor, then on to Machias. Driving in NYC sucks, and whats with all the toll roads? Cost me 40 bucks just to get through town.:yikes: Weather has been good so far, but we my hit some snow tomorrow. My cell number is if I get close to you.

Well we made it home with the new toy/project. Here is a picture at Vichy as we get ready to unload it. I will post another in a few weeks after we get it put back together.

Looks the a great plane. The 1st flying lesson I had was in a Challenger.

How many hours on the engine? When was it decarbed?

Nice looking Challenger, Dean. :) We had a Challenger a long time ago...it didn't look nearly as nice as yours.

Are you flying it to Gaston's?

Cool! My father-in-law has taken a liking to the Challenger line. He got King's Sport Pilot ground school course for Christmas, so I might have a need to learn to fly a Challenger within the foreseeable future. ;)

Thanks Diana, You had told me that you owned a Challenger at one time and if I recall right, you were not to fond of it. I have heard both good and bad about the Challenger, but for what I paid for it, I am willing to find out for myself. If I like it I will possibly buy a Challenger II later on. As for flying to Gaston's, that is a maybe. If Kelly and Blake are wanting to go we will pull the camper down and stay at Copper Johns. If they are staying home, I will fly down.

Glad to see you made the trip fine. To bad we didn't get a chance to catch up,... life seems to get in the way sometimes.

Looking forward to the pictures and first flight report!
