Residential Through the Fence Access

Strike out what you don't like, modify the terms to what you think is fair. Sign it and send it back. They can accept or counter.

Better yet, retype the entire thing to make it LOOK like what they originally gave you, and put in a bunch of stuff that is to your benefit. They sign, you sign. Game, set, match.

DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING until you take it to your attorney for review. It sounds like they are trying to get you to agree to modify the original agreement for access.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I was hoping that someone would chime in that had experience with through the fence agreements at their airport. I am particularly interested in the term length of the agreement that others have.

Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post the details on here.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Re: Through the Fence Access - How much do you pay?

I just received a certified letter from our Airport Board that outlines their new through the fence agreement. It includes a charge for my "access fee" of .05 cents per square foot of the footprint of my house, not just the hangar portion, per year. This is the same amount that they charge for hangar leases inside the fence. The initial agreement is for 5 years and may be renewed for 3 additional terms.

Is this similar to what all the rest of you are paying? Similar terms?

You would think that they would have had a meeting with all the through the fence landowners to at least talk about what they were planning but they did not.

Is this at Driggs Idaho, (KDIJ) by any chance???

No, not at Driggs. Are they having issues there as well?

Driggs is where the whole TTF issue raised it's ugly head.. Dr Brent Blue spearheaded a somewhat successful campaign to bring common sense to a out of control / runaway FAA thought process... Brent had a nice web page on the issue and he even want to DC to testify in front of congress.. The feds did back down..... kinda... Now there is local /state /federal disfunction setting in... It is low key, but not favoring TTF operations.... Typical guvmint wanting total control...:mad2::mad2:..
