Many, many, many years ago my father recounts flying into Reno and being picked up by the Casino/hotel. He got a free room and meal too.

Does anyone know if any of that is still going on in either Reno or Vegas? If so, what programs are offered?

I am sure if you can convince them you are a big spender, they will gladly comp you your room, and some likely have shuttles.

In Reno, the Grand Sierra Resort is right next to the airport, you could walk from the airport, or, take a $5 cab, or, likely call the hotel.

The downtown casinos are only slightly more distance, likely a $6-10 cab ride to Siena, Harrahs, ElDorodao, Silver Legacy, etc.

As for comping you rooms, most of the hotels have good software tracking systems that will reward you for your gambling. And, the Reno hotel market is pretty aggressive in comping. Hit all the casinos, join their comp clubs, play a bit at each one of them, and you will then get offers of free rooms each month in your mailbox.

Now, if you want to make it real simple, just fly to JackPot, NV, and you can taxi to the tie-downs that are about 100 yards from the back door of Cactus Pete's. No car needed, but, I am sure you could convince the shuttle driver to pick you up if you had lots of bags.

You can see the planes tied down in the upper left corner, out the back door of the casino.

Wendover, NV/UT is similar, but you need the shuttles from the hotels to come get you.

The airport is in the upper, right of the picture, the hotels are in the front.

I have a good friend that stays at the Gold Coast in Vegas, and gets his room comped from time to time. He likes to gamble, but he's not a big spender by any means. Usually he'll get some offer in the mail for a free weekend, meal vouchers, or whatever.

Dunno about being picked up at the airport, though.

Just call ahead and give the resort your citation n number,or your gulf stream registration number.
