Hi all,

I have my medical appointment for my first Class 3 medical tomorrow morning.

Last year, I had a benign growth (pyogenic granuloma, basically just an inflammatory lesion) removed from my lower eyelid. It was a 5 minute procedure in the ophthalmologist's office and was such a non-event that I forgot to check 'yes' to the surgical question on MedXpress but did list the appointment... The growth was sent off to pathology and confirmed it as a pyogenic granuloma and is now completely healed and my eye looks completely normal.

I can't find anything in the AME Guide about something like this - am I going to need to go back to the ophthalmologist and get a clinical progress note even though it's entirely healed and is non-cancerous? The only documentation I have is the bill stating "eyelid lesion removal" and the pathology report from LabCorp. Mostly worried about getting deferred for lack of documentation for this issue. Going in I was hoping that this would be a 10 second conversation with the AME and a quick look at the eye - still hoping that is the outcome but now I'm second guessing at the last minute!

Thanks for any advice, I really appreciate it!

Likely it will be a short conversation with the AME, but since this is your first medical, you should be going in for a consultation anyway. When you get there, don't give anyone your Medxpress code until after you speak to the AME about this. Ask him if he needs any additional documentation. Even if it's just a progress note for his own file, once he opens your application, you'll only have 14 days to complete it.

There must be a clinical note, and you should have access to that. Mine were all online. Yours are likely to be.
