I just watched the opening of the NHL Winter Classic. There was a two ship F-18(?) fly-by over Wrigley Field - which they timed to be at end of The National Anthem. They did a long shot from a helicopter above and outside the stadium and flight path.
I swear that the jets turned east to avoid the 1900'-surface area of the ORD Bravo. I've flown nearly that path myself with Young Eagles. (Staying at 2000 feet under the 3rd innermost ring.) The whole flight could have been VFR if it wasn't for the stadium TFR.
