Recommendations in South Louisiana

I'm flying to the Florida panhandle next week from Addison. I'd love to find a stop in S Louisiana to stretch, refuel and grab a little breakfast. Any recommendations? Baton Rouge? New Orleans? Hoping for something on-airport.
 
Lakefront in NO, on the south shore of Lake Poncitrain (sp). Used to have a restaurant there anyway. Just don't go for a stroll off the airport. BTR has a decent restaurant in the airline terminal but you'd have to go thru security. MOB (Mobile) has the same deal w/ security. FBOs probably have a courtesy car. A little further Destin, and if you like to watch women in bathing suits go to the Back Porch, gawk while ya eat!
 
Chennault near Lake Charles. Good food for a dollar with a fill-up. I'm not sure if there's a minimum purchase.

Yes, Lakefront Airport (KNEW) is very nice and has a good restaurant.

How do you get through security to eat without a ticket? Just asking because I'd like to do that at KBTR. I can't even get into KBHM and I have a KBHM sida access badge.

You don't. No ticket, no eat unless the restaurant is outside of security, and it's not at BTR. There's a seafood place nearby that is supposed to be so good. Don't remember the name (think it was take-out only maybe) but our crews used to get the hotel van to take them. Call the BTR FBO and see if they have a courtesy car and then you have a lot of choices.
