Recommendations for CFIs/Flight Schools in San Diego?

Can anyone share their current recommendations in San Diego?

I've tried looking at Yelp, but you see a lot of really good reviews for one-off discovery flights or sightseeing, but that doesn't tell you much about whether you'd want to spend the hours with the instructor for your PPL (or whether the planes are properly maintained, etc).

Thanks. Is there a particular instructor there? I am guessing from your link the recommendation is to join the club and choose a CFI who is also a member?
