I will contact Dr Bruce on this as well but thought you all might enjoy commenting.
Woke up last Thursday with mild chest discomfort. My dad died if heart disease so I really try to keep close tabs on my health. When it didn't go away I thought a trip to the ER was in my best interest. Hard decision to make when you know it could ground you.
EKG strip was run with no abnormalities and blood gasses over time revealed no enzymes present to indicate heart damage. I was kept for a 23 hour stay and a stress test in the AM.
Stress test went well and heart specialist told me no indication of ANY heart issues. He further suggested it could very well be acid reflux and to try some pepsid and to talk to my PCP.
I told said doc that the news was great and that since I was a pilot that his wording on my charts would be very important. He said to not worry as he was ex AF and understood the importance of what was written.
As far as I am concerned I am good to go but need to report this at my next medical. I feel however I should work with my AME and PCP ahead of time to make sure he has what he needs to grant a medical.
What say ye????
Also what should my chart say to make this easier.
