There are many airports one could fly thousands of miles from and not have this be an issue.
There are others where you wouldn't even need to clear the fence.
The point is being in a position to need S&R because that's likely to be the only way one might be found in a somewhat timely fashion.
Laughing, you are just being argumentative. How about this, you can go down five miles from your home field on a mountain top. Or you can go down 100 miles from your home field in a lake. Pick a scenario.
For the close to home accident, they may find you more quickly since your 'people' will miss you quickly thinking you are flying locally. And emergency rescue can be called by them to look for your ELT.
If you are flying longer, xcounry and go down, no one will bother to look for you for hours since they might assume you took some diversions, and of course you are not returning home anyway so no one will miss you for most of a day, or longer. You can easily die before they find you in that scenario unless you file a flight plan.
