RAF

Awesome video!

The sad thing is that if someone would have posted a similar video done on a 172, everyone on this forum would have been screaming that the pilot is crazy.

Not sad to me. This fellow is well trained, knows the aircraft well, plenty of power and trains constantly to do low level mission simulation. Most GA drivers are not in this league. Check out dale snodgrass in his tomcat.

I fly 3 hours and have to pull up to get into the traffic pattern. ;)

Two things. One you often don't know the skill level of a GA pilot therefore can't judge and two that Typhoon is moving quite a lot faster than some GA plane would.

The skill level of the RAF pilot is pretty high or he would not be turned loose in this high performance fighter. Steve hinton or his son could probably fly wing but not your average GA pilot. I've always considered a military trained pilot as a superior pilot. I think in most cases this is true. Dale snodgrass comes to mind.

What is it with these people and their overhead breaks? Do they think they're flying some kind of RV?

I'm not arguing that.
My point is if the same pilot stepped out of the Typhoon and got into a C172 and then did the same flight people on this forum would still call him crazy.

Ahhhh yes, I agree! But how bout a beech 18 or a beaver instead. Some noise to accompany it. Really get the peasants upset.

Shoot, fly an oil collection field sometime.

This isn't even a "real" video but rather the video from one of those motion flight simulator rides you find at museums and such (Science Museum of London IIRC?). Still, it looks like it was recorded doing the "Mach Loop" which is cool; if I ever get to England I'm going to check it out for sure.

Real deal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjtSXJGxMNE
