Question for the cops

Henning is right about lots of things but he is nowhere near right when it comes to his opinions of helmet safety or motorcycle gear in general.

I'm still not really sure what he meant by his comment

Did I tell him not to wear gear? Nope, I said don't let the gear fool you into thinking you're any less vulnerable.

Oh, that makes sense. Yeah, I mean I usually just match the flow of traffic and just kinda granddad when I'm riding by myself - doubly so with a passenger- only time I sorta got dog is when I'm riding with a group and even then I know my limits.

Matching the flow of traffic isn't that good of an idea either, you become invisible to cars. Steadily moving your way forward through traffic at about +10mph is pretty optimum I've found for staying out of trouble both with people who don't notice their surroundings as well as with cops. The deadliest place on the highway is the 1/4 mile after an on ramp. That's where the as swipes will be standing on it barging for the left lane. The second most dangerous is the 1/8th mile before an exit ramp.

Better to follow my company's lead and work from home, sign up with Peapod, and get me an Amazon Prime account. I'll go from 30,000 miles a year to less than 1,000 which will only be round trips to the airport.

No peapod for me but W@H is great. Amazon Prime, too.

But I do think we're only a few years away from being stuffed in those little pods like in the Matrix. Heh heh.
