Sooo after reading a few topics on people worrying about folks trying to get airports shutdown, what about making a site, kinda like angle flight or pilots and paws, about airports that were closed due to whiny people who complained after moving next to said airport.

Compile a list of airports and the people who got them shutdown, and coordinate volunteer flights of people who will orbit their homes at 501' AGL at late hours for hours on end, or orbit where the airport used to be, nothing illegal about it, and maybe if you advertised that site enough, that whining about airplane noise and screwing with GA could get you more airplane noise than your bargained for, maybe these new age sensitive types will set their sights on other windmills.

Just a thought.

I would be game for this. When and where?

Punch back twice as hard, and use their own rules to do it.

An airport would make a great place for low income housing. Lots of land, already federally subsidized in multiple ways, flat open area with good drainage. You could even turn the runway into the "main street". Let's start a campaign to Do Some Good. Let's find airports that are currently selected for closing and start calling for this. Just need a catchy name for the concept.

I'm guessing the people pushing so hard for airport closure might pause and consider what a couple of square miles of housing projects might be like, and then decide hey... the occasional jet isn't so bad.

That's even better. 'specially in California. :)
