I wonder if this is a substance abuse issue, like so many entertainers seem to be afflicted with.

He had been sick for a while with the flu. Complications from that most likely.

Reported he had the flu, his plane made an emergency landing after the Atlanta concert last week and he was hospitalized. One of the few entertainers that you never heard any gossip about, no ex's filing lawsuits, no baby momma drama, just a great musician that was a little on the odd side of life. I have been to 10 Super Bowls and I think his halftime show was the only one I watched. RIP
 
At 57? Cripes, that's not much older than your friendly neighborhood Steingar.
 
I have a very strong suspicion that he didn't die from the flu, or anything related to the flu, unless his immune system had been weakened for some reason.
 
A lot of people don't know he was much more than a singer.
He doesn't get enough credit IMO for being a bad ass guitarist.

He is like phenomenally good at guitar.
 
I changed the thread title so it is less offensive to everyone.
 
What's worse is that the queen mother just turned 90. No one should have to see their child die.

I always assumed that EVERYBODY knew that he was great on the guitar. C'mon, everybody knows his special guitar made shaped like his symbol.

The Queen Mother is the mother of the reigning monarch. It's Queen Elizabeth II who just turned 90, her mother died in 2002.

The "FLU" (Influenza Virus) infection , does not last for weeks.

Well, I was diagnosed with the influenza virus a few weeks ago, and I'm still not 100%. Also had a friend who get hit with it 5 years ago, and passed away from the complications.

Guess those doctors are liars, and my friend didn't actually die, and I just imagined it happening.

6PC originally had the title of "I wouldn't fly a GA plane to a Prince concert..." "...because he's dead."
Then people got sand in their vaginas and whined that he should change it. So he changed the title to the internal combustion engine thing.
Then there was more sandy vaginas.

and from page 2 of the article, fatigue and weakness can last for 2-3 weeks.
 
Had the luck to see him performance on stage many times - just a great entertainer all around - Sad day.
 
Oh by the time I saw it the title was something like "The internal combustion machine is the greatest invention"...

Could have quite easily, though most people his age get past influenza infections. Still, what most of you think of as the flu simply isn't. You haven't had influenza unless you thought you were dying or actively wanted to.
 
Y'all are killin' me with these videos! Great artists, fantastic showman, and one of the best guitarists ever. RIP Prince,
