NC is a great distance and I am having trouble locating a contact near there that can offer Grumman specific inspection services. I have a call into Fletchair to see if they can make a recommendation.
Maybe someone here has a contact. Really needs to be someone that knows their way around the Grummans. I would like to avoid having to fly a guy out there if I can. I don't have Ron Levy's contact info so if someone wants to PM that to me, I will ping him as well.
 
Was wondering WTF you've been! Especially with the election going on.

not sure if this helps, but I did watch Fletch today, since I'm sick and just chillin on the couch.

actually I emailed a local guy who knows a guy who's had 2 grummans at 8A6 to see if he has a contact. also, where the fk is @Grum.Man hiding at??

I still can't figure out how to use that website. I have looked at all three predominant Grumman web sites and I think they're all Frozen in Time in the eighties somewhere.

One is an actual form which is completely dead. I posted on it a few months ago and there have been no responses. The other one is some sort of weird website that sends you a newsletter full of people's conversations but I have no idea where the conversations are happening it is not like a forum where you can type questions and get responses.
 
Make one of your videos and put it on there, that'll introduce them to 6PC and what they're in for! :rofl::rofl::rofl:

The conversations are happening via email; the website is just an archive of those conversations. You email the list, everyone on the list gets your message, and people can elect to reply to you, either privately or via the list. Sounds like you subscribed to the digest version, where you get one big email containing all posts for that day.
 
Somone called? I can go take a look if you'd like. I know my way around an AA1 like the back of my hand. AA5 isn't that different. I think I've seen the one you may be looking at.

that is horribly disappointing. disappointing that a couple of people are so easily offended by, well, absolutely nothing, to the point that it drives off a long standing, contributing, humorous, albeit coked out member of the forum. I guess squeaky wheels do get the grease.

as for the guy who recommended the guy at TTA......I don't know anything about that guy but u can't get much closer to the plane you're looking at than TTA. hopefully he's a good resource. I also PM'd you a local grumman owner's contact info, maybe he has some advice for you. my offer to go take a look at the plane still stands, it'll just have to wait until after this coming weekend.

Although I agree 100%, ultimately it's their house, their rules. I've been banned twice now for what I'd consider petty ****. First time I prolly deserved it. Second time was really petty ****. If it happens again, I'll stay on Beechtalk where people actually know WTF they are talking about.

I come here for fun, relaxation and hangar banter. When that's done, so am I.
 
Might try Lou @ Flying Leaf - Asheboro, NC. Not sure how strong he is with Grumman, but he's good and detailed.

grum ,he still owns it as far as i know . we were kids together in noyac ,and he became my most trusted adviser for a very long time .he worked on my stuff at hto as well as the old airport in stanford . he was the best of the best and could have retired at age 18,but he loved what he did . only guy i know with a custom crafted toolbox from snap on. i hope he is doing well .i am somewhat of a has been now and only fly local .i wish him well

True dat. And, for the most part, I really don't care what the rules are. It's the inconsistency and randomness of the application thereof that I find distasteful.

It's going to be a very sad and boring day here when all the fun people are run off and all who remain are the puritan prima donnas.

Nope he sold it to another guy and went to work for some guy in Raleigh as a fleet manager. Cheri doesn't work at the airport anymore either. They have had three airport managers since Dan left. My family and I are good friends with the Swanson's.

Oh lighten up Francis, I was kidding. It always amazes me how one douche bag with a complaint can be so powerful here. I could do without looking at penis cartoons, but I didn't even see what you are talking about. If I had I would have just damned him under my breath and moved on, others should do the same.

Hopefully making America great again will drop kick Murphy them back into their pansy gardens with butterfly kisses and champagne dream zones where they can graze on delicious blade of grass with the rest of the sheeple. Baaaaaaa...........

Don't be so sure. We are moving towards being more intolerant of opinions/beliefs that are different. That's what "Making America Great Again" really means. It's all about building walls literally and metaphorically.

I enjoy a good penis cartoon. 6PC can you PM me some?

This will be for putting around with the top down, dropping rubber chickens, easter eggs, etc.

Not sure what it means but I keep hearing all about something called "Hand flying an airplane" This one has one of those. So that will be fun to learn.

thank you for that aviation-related post. I am very un-offended by this post. although are you trying to imply that rubber chickens lay easter eggs? because that would clearly offend some people and would be a bannable offense.
