There is another squadron at LGB. Maybe their meeting day is more convenient. Can't show up at the meeting... I work. That's what I was trying to talk to him about.
Did you do a point to point flight or just do some sightseeing? And did you take off from inside the outer ring? So, yeah... super easy. Just contact approach once airborne, they'll give you a squawk and you'll keep that squawk til you are on the ground. Nothing to it.

I heard Cajun was in an appropriate costume in honor of POTUS.
Hey, guys... don't get this thread locked with political stuff, k? I want to report back to the OP - and others interested - after tomorrow's flight, so I can give feedback on procedures.
The lumberjack from the other thread had bigger boobs.
You know you are just asking to take this thread in a Monty Python direction, don't you?!

I live in California. Every time the president is in town, my home drome is under the outer ring, just outside of the inner ring. The only place I could imagine a presidential TFR being more disruptive to GA is if the president was going into DFW since there are an absurd number of airports in and around Dallas.EVERY.
FREAKING.
SUMMER.
SINCE.
HE.
WAS.
ELECTED.
Sometimes multiple times a year.
You have know idea how disruptive this is.

wow bossy woman....
I definitely shouldn't speak for her but It would be one thing if she encourages it, but she largely ignores these stupid comments which leads me to believe she probably doesn't appreciate it.
Jesus guys I'm going to have to get the hose out when @Cajun_Flyer Can't someone just shoot the **** about flying and the like without everyone constantly commenting on what sex she is?... Sorry to pick on you two about it but it gets tiring every time she posts something to see people respond to her like a 5th grader.
You definitely can fly VFR in the 30 mile ring. You have to get a squawk from ATC before entering the ring. You are going to have to contact them anyways to activate your VFR flight plan. At that point they will give you the squawk . They will keep you on VFR advisories so you will be talking to them the whole way.
Jesus guys I'm going to have to get the hose out when @Cajun_Flyer says something. It seems like every time she puts out anything it takes 1 or 2 posts to have someone comment that she is a woman. I definitely shouldn't speak for her but It would be one thing if she encourages it, but she largely ignores these stupid comments which leads me to believe she probably doesn't appreciate it. Sorry to pick on you two about it but it gets tiring every time she posts something to see people respond to her like a 5th grader. Maybe i'm in the minority but I wouldn't want my wife to have to listen to silly flirty comments if she was on a forum dedicated to a hobby she enjoys. Then again maybe I'm wrong but just how I read it.
To be fair, I think many people around her get referred to by whatever their character is on the board.
Cajun is the girl.
But there has to be an a knowledgment that some of the dudes around here were raised during a time where what they think is good natured is now sexist and inappropriate.
So everyone else gets a character based on personality or knowledge, but Cajun gets one based solely on her gender. Hmmm.
So those dudes are older, you'd think they would be mature enough to have a reaction OTHER than "OOOOOH SHE HAS BOOBIES!" to her discussing serious topics like TFR procedures.

That said... lately, the comments have been getting a bit out of control. I've been letting them go, but it's getting exhausting. I don't want anyone here watching what they say around me - the world is way too PC as it is, but I also don't want everything I post to be met with comments like the ones above.
(bonus points to anyone who can identify that guy ^^^ and the irony in me posting his picture)
J-Roc from Trailer Park Boys.
Too easy.... it's not rocket appliances.
Fair enough. You're the one on the receiving end, so I give more weight to you being annoyed for yourself. I feel like the white knight syndrome, however, is just as sexist.

Hey man, I hear you on the white knight thing, but I don't think I was being one. Like you agreed with, the constant barrage of "She's a girl" drove me nuts, especially when I noticed she was trying to ignore it. It just made me uncomfortable. I just felt like I had to say something. Anyways she can take of herself, it was merely an observation that it was getting a little ridiculous.
Sorry for the thread derail...
Did you say samsquanch?!?!!?
Yes. Because she's literally ONE of TWO females on the boards. If the GUYS all got one based on their gender, there'd be precisely ZERO distinction between the 50 guys all chatting back and forth. TBH I get tired of the "CAJUN IS A GURLLL!!!" thing as much as I get tired of the "PULL THE HANDULLLL!!!" comments every time 6PC says anything... but I do what extinguishes bad behavior in the absence of negative reinforcement... I ignore it. And bitching about it certainly isn't negative reinforcement.
The pull the handle thing is tired.
I roll with it because I like to poke fun at things and hell look at my avatar.
I am going to get that comment but I think it was funny once but by the end of the first week of flying the Cirrus I had heard it 20 times.
Now other people start to notice it.
I posted a pic on FB of sunrise from the plane and got this text from a comic I am friends with about 30 min later:

I also get that Cirrus pilots think about the chute far less than non Cirrus pilots.
If you don't fly it, you associate it with the chute.
To me it is just the plane. The chute is no more to me than your blue knob is to you (Whatever those things do)
I don't react to it because I sort of have it coming but it is the joke that everyone has already heard.
be quiet woman. And, see, and that's my point. I'm not getting mad over any of the comments, I'm just not reacting to them anymore. Much like the chute comments have gotten tired for you, the "OMG WOMAN!!!" comments have gotten tired for me. I'm not going to cause a fuss, but don't expect me to engage. At the end of the day, all is good.
my daughter does the same thing. It's horrible especially now that she is in her 20sFine, I'll go back to scrubbing my daughter's poop out of the bathtub. She's apparently as much of a lady as I am.
Now back to your regularly scheduled POTUS thread.
I prove my manhood the old fashioned way.Yeah, my bikini post was less than the most tasteful one that I could have posted and I want to apologize.
I am sorry Cajun.
With her costume change cross country post in mind, I did a quick google of "stars and stripes" costumes to post for her presidential TFR flight and the bikini pic was one of several that popped up. I quickly copied it and pasted it into my post without really thinking. I'm sure I'm the first one here to make a post without fully thinking. More due to a dirty old man mindset and wanting to have some fun then being misogynistic or wanting to be hurtful.
That being said, I do see more people running to Cajun's defense as well as other female members far more often than that of male members who get poked fun at. Those who do this may want to reflect and see if they are doing so because they view women as fragile creatures who need to be defended as they are incapable of doing it themselves. I doubt that is true of Cajun or any other lady on here so your frail attempts at chivalry are unnecessary and possibly even more insulting than the somewhat inappropriate jokes that are made.
Again, I apologize to Cajun.
Those of you trying to prove your manhood... LOL.
