The niece of one of my Lifeline Pilot passengers is collecting postcards from as many states as possible for a 5th grade class project. They use them as springboards into discussing the cities/states depicted on the postcards.
Because I don't want this to turn into one of those Internet phenomena that never end, I won't post her address here. Instead, I'll ask you to PM me for her address if you're willing to send a postcard to Lengby, Minnesota. I don't think this is a particularly long-term thing, so don't PM me after March, 2011.
From the request I received: "The postcard must have the state name and be mailed from the state (example an Illinois postcard mailed from Illinois), any town is ok because the 5th grade students study about the city/state they receive the postcard from. It is really a cool project, fun and educational too!"
Personally, I think it would be neat if they got postcards from outside the US, too, but that's not part of the "official" request!
