Alright I know lots of you have been itching to get to Ames to learn what real flying is all about Ive been pretty busy organizing the Region Seminar and Banquet, see previous thread in this Forum, but that is starting to wind down. So without further ado, here it goes.
Glider Rides will take place March 31st and April 1st. Should be a Saturday and Sunday. Matt and I will be flying Gliders. We are hoping to get Matts old IS28-B2 "Lark" down from Minnesota and also fly with the clubs Blanik. A great video of an instructional flight in the Blanik is available on www.pilotcast.com Kent did a wonderful job! We are hoping to arrange for an extra towplane, if interest is high enough to warrant it.
Social events in the evenings will happen, but I havent really thought too much about them. I suspect some sort of grilling or BBQ. I will try to organize for hangar space for those of you who will fly in, I cant make any guarantees though.
Anyone got any ideas for anything, please let me know. If you are going to come, reply to thread. The midwest flyin we had in October was a great hit and Im sure this will be at least just as fun.
Once again, mark your calendars, that will be March 31st and April 1st, Saturday and Sunday. See you in Ames!
