Regarding polishing old plexiglass to clean up the haze, does it really work, that is will last or is this just a quick fix..?

Thanks

Depends on how badly scratched it is, how patient the repairer is, and you will likely end up with a bit of a halo depending on the size of the repair and curve of the window. It's removing material in the plexi so that it can be clear again, but changing thickness can affect the view. It can also be messed up in a hurry. Worst case is you have to replace the window. If the scratches are so bad you might have to replace it, might not be bad to try. If you've never done it before, go to Lowes and buy a $5 piece of plexi and put a few scratches on it and try the repair not on the aircraft.

Get a Micro Mesh kit, follow the instructions. Halo effect is reduced by straight line sanding/polishing. Don't use a circular motion sanding/polishing.

are your windows? I use a cleaner followed by a polish. Fills small scratches not sure about a window that is hazed. Sounds like you need new glass.

Guess I never thought about doing that. Makes sense.
