Please Delete. Problem Solved.

I bought the small deep fryer today to give it a shot and I'm really pleased with it. I am sure I won't be pleased with my waistline after purchasing a deep fryer though. Sudden realization that you can make fried chicken, donuts, vegetables, turkey... send help!

So far I've gotten a pretty good handle on beef and broccoli, cashew chicken, and now general tso's chicken. Of the 3 I have to say I like the general tso's the best but that might be the deep fried goodness talking!

General Tso's Recipe

A note on the General Tso's, I couldn't find the dried peppers to add and used crushed red peppers instead.

Wow that looks like what I just picked up at Onehunglow, my local Chinese joint...but I didn't get all the staging thingies ya got there. I would've taken a pic but I ate it already, no leftovers.
I figured he didn't actually stage anything. I was thinking Overdrive was going to make an attempt at cooking, took a picture for proof, and then gave up and went out for dinner.

SO, is Onehunglow a chain or a Mom and Pop? LOL Again, you should have shred btw.

Oops, did not know I caused the cornfusion. Me so sorry.

Just got back from lunch. This is a hot pot. You let the spicy broth boil, put the greens and squid and stuff in there, let it boil a few minutes, then put it in a small bowl and eat it. Not pictured is the bun (rice vermicelli.) I don't eat it but if one did, one would put it in the eating dish then scoop some spicy broth on to it.IMG_3382.JPG

This is Teriyaki chicken. I got a whole chicken, cut it in half, and marinated it in Teriyaki all day. I even separated the skin with my fingers so that I could pour Teriyaki on the inside and get that good and marinated. I like to cook it with the skin on, as it preserves moisture. We are doing indirect heat, a couple hours and it will be good to go.

Nauga,
who wonders if it loses its flavor on the bedpost overnight

Interesting indirect method and ya gotta do what ya gotta do....but aluminum foil directly on briquettes? I use a steel pan in a BSK. Usually the pan is filled with water to enhance moisture and moderate the temperature.

Oh no, the foil isn't resting on briquettes. I'm using coal holders to keep the coals to two sides, The foil is just a drip catcher, that's all. It's sitting in between the coals.

Came out great, by the way.
