Plane Crash at downtown springfield airport 1 died.

By the looks of what is left of the plane it is hard to imagine anyone would survive.

RIP and prayers to all involved....
 
Victim identified as Kathryn Collins


All three people on the plane are from Springfield. Kathryn Collins, 42, died at the scene. She was a passenger. The pilot, Coby Cullins, 36, and another passenger, Thelma Vanhooser, 54, were taken to a hospital. Vanhooser was listed in serious condition at a burn unit on Wednesday night; Cullins was in fair condition.
 
Turns out this is an airplane that a friend from the Purple Board and I looked at as a partnering opportunity. We went to see it at the hanger in GA and took some pictures and sat in it.

A week later I went with a local CFI and flew it for about 30 minutes. It flew very nicely except for the stall we did. It dropped a wing quicker than I could blink. Had never had a plane drop a wing like that.

Checked back a couple of weeks ago and found out it had been sold. Now I know to whom. :sad: Seems he just got his certificate a few weeks ago also.
