piston engined/water based jet-pack variant video

I just watched that on avweb. I really think I want one of those. Of course in Michigan, in winter, there might be some "operator comfort" issues....

But, man, in the summer, you could get all the way across the lake!

I'll bet that it would really hurt if you lost water pressure at the 75m max altitude, or worse yet had one nozzle quit while up high. I wonder if you can do rolls by shutting one side off? I think I'd let someone else try it first though.

maybe it's one engine and 2 nozzles?

Yeah, but:
  • Recreational use: We decided at the outset that jetpacks are not practical for commuting and should primarily be designed for recreation including short term rentals. For that purpose, they must also be very simple to learn and operate. Intuitive flight controls, inherent stability, and an effective training system means that most student pilots can learn to fly solo within a few minutes of in-water instructions.
