Anyone one out there have some experience / info on these little birds? There are some low time pretty well equipped planes out there that look pretty interesting to me..

Thanks

Been posted for 6 hours on POA and not even a snarky response yet......think that answers that question.

One of the owners I am talking to said not many folks know of these things... they go one a buy a 152, PA38, and a Skipper and end up spending more when it is all done...

She bought it to get her ratings and is now moving one to bigger an better....

I recall some school which bought a few of them and later sold the whole fleet, not 100% sure but I recall something about this, also recall most came with GNSs.

I've got ~20? hours in a couple from back when Zenair was making them, probably around 2003 or so. Tiny, not particularly well performing, and had a kind of tinker-toy feel too them. Good field of view IIRC but that's about the only positive thing I remember.

No luck with Google?

Just the usual sales mumbo jumbo.... found some stuff on Newplane.com. jetcareers.com, thought there may be a resident expert here that could help me out..

Got 10 or so hours in one...Slower than a 152 with the same lycoming 235l2c. I didn't care for the way the plane felt in the flare and rotating on take off which I attributed to the short span/thick airfoil stabilator. The interior is Spartan and looks less "robust" than comparable aircraft.
It is very stable and has good visibility. Panel space is limited so you're limited should you want/ need to upgrade.
Parts will be a problem as there are few of the type around.

YouTube has a few videos of this plane. Perhaps some would have commentary about performance, etc. Wikipedia may have an entry, although their performance "specs" are not exhaustive.

Look at a used liberty xl2 basically the same aircraft, but much faster.

My experience is that they are comfortable, easy to fly, and have good visibility. However, a lot of problems after about 300 hours and paint peeling off the skin in large layers. I would not buy one.
