Pilot - Social Experiment

Re: Pilot - Social Expirement

Wow. And I just changed the 300 miles to 100 miles but eHarmony won't let you do less. Match will let you do "one mile" I think. Oh well, I guess the folks at eHarmony believe you shouldn't limit your search to just your own town.

That 'one mile' setting is often referred to as "booty call" distance.:yesnod::yesnod::rofl:

Phone call, done. Seems like a cool person. All set for meeting possibly next Tuesday but then all these other matches kept popping up so I'm going to see if I can change it to tonight or tomorrow.

Gotta make room for the others.

(Sigh)

Dating sucks.

Is said dude aware that he is part of a "social experiment" being called blow by blow in the internet?

No, of course not, but if it goes beyond the first or second date and I like him enough to see him a third time I will not post details and in fact then my eHarmony membership will have done its job.

Um.... no. Those things trip off if you sneeze sometimes.

Do it right.

Hire a commercial pilot to aviate while you copulate, lest you autorotate and self-immolate.

Have a good date! Be back by eight!

Problem is she waited to get her PPL, so now she doesn't qualify to earn her wings that way, nor with an auto pilot either. You may practice as necessary with an auto pilot, but a rated pilot cannot receive as an add on an MH rating unless one is at the controls with the auto pilot on disconnect. When submitting your 8710 or IACRA filing, if the rating was done in a plane that was equipped with an A/P, you must attach video proof of said act.

Besides, airplanes are easy. I'm rated as MH SIC Rotorcraft H....:D

Besides, all I said is I'm meeting a guy for a drink. I didn't say what his name was.

All we know is:

He has a sling

He likes Red Bull and Vodka

Could be anyone, really.

For the millionth time, Henning, I am not interested in the MH!

About 3 hours into your first 5 hr trip with the right person, the temptation typically proves too much. From then on it's like smoking crack....

Oh and my plane only flies for less than three hours with two grown ups of normal size in the front and an hour of reserve fuel for good measure. Problem solved. No MH.

I am assuming MH = Mile High club.. :dunno::dunno:

If so then this couple had a great time...... Till the end.

OMG. You mean you don't know about that phone call alibi thing? It calls you at a certain time during your date. If you are having a good time, you just ignore the call. If you need to get out of the date you pick up the call and a "person" says stuff (I don't know what, I've never used it). Then you tell your date something has come up and you have to leave.

Sort of like the rejection hotline (again, I wouldn't know) or other hotlines:

You mean you leave your cell phone on during dates?

Personally, I think it's a good way to ruin two fun activities.

Darn it now I'm becoming high maintenance. I googled the bar he wanted to meet at and it was noisy, crowded, often had a line and a cover charge, live music, and an indoor smoking room. Just didn't seem right for a quiet get to know you first date.

So I texted him about it and he said it actually was noisy and he'd get a suggestion from a coworker instead.

The suggestion was so snobby their website said they had a line most nights and a capacity of only 40 people. It also said they had more than 200 rums for tasting and if you got there before your date then your date would have to wait in line, first come first served. L-A-M-E.

So I texted him about that "suggestion" from his friend.

I am the worst first date ever.

He is now texting "I'll find something".

So I joked "we could just go to the corner store, buy two 40s, and walk on the beach".

Argh.

Problem solved. Sports Bar with strange beer pouring devices. Beer is awesome.

You realize you need to post live updates during the date for all your pilot friends to judge.

I'm too tired to find it in this thread: is the date tonight?

The date? Which one?

Bachelor #1 - Tonight (sling man one)

Bachelor #2 - Tomorrow (sling man two)

Possible there is a Sunday person but I made the mistake of being honest and I think he is not cool about the sling men. Then again he's met two girls over the past few months on the site and they didn't work out, so how is that fair?

Tonight's victim enjoys IPA. Plan is if I can find parking anywhere, arrive early, have cold IPA paid for and waiting for him. I like IPAs too.

Wishing you a great date(s)! You seem like a nice girl with an awesome sense of humor. Im sure your date is in for a treat!

I would continue but I think you get the idea. However, all of my relationships have been internet related so persistence is key. Eventually one will work out......

Is that a typo? ALL of your relationships have been internet related?

I feel so...old.

My last "date" was 32 years ago, when Mary and I broke up for almost a year. I found my date the old-fashioned way -- she was Mary's best friend... :D

(Hey -- it worked, didn't it?)

That joking post reminded me of the idiot who had a mistress that he took to Vegas and conked her on the head with his airplane prop and put her in intensive care.

His wife back home in California saw the airplane on the news that night and knew it was his airplane and that he wasn't supposed to be in Vegas.

Insta-divorce. What a loser. Bet he thought he was pretty smart sneaking off to Vegas in his airplane though. I bet the Judge chopped it in half with a chainsaw. ;)

I can't find a dang web link now to it, though. I really should save that stuff for future laughs when I think I've had a bad day.

As far as dating goes, heck that was over with long before I got married in 1994. I'm officially one of those old married farts, I guess.

The thread is seriously entertaining, though! ;)

Home safe. No 911 needed. Walking back to my car I guess it was obvious I was freezing cold and he offered me his coat. Adorable.

He said he'll call me (you know, they all say that). Since we don't have a second meeting set up yet, you never know..... this could have something to do with the surgery and one week off work starting on Monday for him. Or being old fashioned.

We'll see if he calls.

Now I wonder how tomorrow night will go compared to this. Then a decision will have to be made.

Meanwhile I hesitate to call any of the others. There is a vet (animals) in the East Bay who seems nice.

I met my wife online dating in 2003. We married in 2007. She was unemployed at the time and the company I was working for had cut my hours down to 4 days a week.

It took about a year and change, but I managed to meet someone so it can happen! It does take living through the "war stories" though. For a woman it should be easier to get dates as I think the online sites always have more guys. I think everyone enjoys getting an e-mail from a potential match so don't be shy about writing first!

Re: Pilot - Social Expirement

I think that's the classiest way I've ever been called cheap.

And it's certainly not the first time a lady has told me I have to pay to see pictures of her.

wow, big laugh on that one! thanks

I always email first.

Ha careful there.. I found out one of my roommates was hooking up with my ex right after we broke up.. needless to say that was a terrible decision for him to make.

Lets just say he has a new understanding of the phrase "payback is a *****"

Not a typo. I'm shy in person (shy isn't quite the word).

Update. Got a text from Bachelor #1. Said something about thanks for a great Friday night and have a good flight. I texted him back to wish him good luck on his surgery on Monday.

Getting ready now for Bachelor #2. Meeting tonight at 8pm. Left a message for the East Bay guy who is currently in LA on business.

Can't wait for this all to end and hoping to find a nice person within the first 10 people.

So is it not considered normal to date more than one person anymore? I mean can't you go out with a couple of men and not limit yourself to only one until you are sure that you want to commit to that person for a time?

I was wondering that too.
