Pilot arrested for DUI blows .00

Neither of them is exactly "small," and with a combined population approaching 250K I doubt they have a lot of time to single out guy because he wasn't drunk when he was arrested. I'd think they would be better at retaliation, if that's what they were up to.

If the police do the blood draw, you aren't charged until the results come back. That means you aren't spending thousands, and your license isn't suspended.
Yes but you were still arrested for DUI and that’s all the FAA cares about. It doesn’t matter if you were actually convicted of anything or not. Your medical gets revoked, you can’t fly for a living again until the FAA agrees that you weren’t actually drunk and you are stuck having to answer the “have you ever been arrested” question on your medical application and jump through hoops for the rest of your life all because of a false arrest by a corrupt officer. Maybe that doesn’t bother you but it sure seems like unfair due process that all US citizens are supposed to be entitled to and can very much screw someone’s life up when they did absolutely nothing wrong.

The problem is that the FAA cares at all if you've been arrested. It shouldn't matter. They should care about convictions or unadjudicated criminal charges. We are innocent until proven guilty, after all.

That's an FAA problem.
