Didn't realize how FEW pictures we had taken until I started pulling them off the camera. :( Oh well.. Quality over quantity I guess. ;)

I'll work on a trip write-up as I get time this week.

AAAARGH.....I was going to pull the second roll of film out of my camera this morning, and noticed that I hadn't put it in correctly. It never wound around the takup roll . Too bad, cause i think I gad some really good shots on that roll. I don't think I'll do that again....

At least I got the first roll.....

Here are my favorite pictures from the weekend:

I think some of the best pictures I have were taken over the weekend. Most of them by Tristan :) There are some pretty amazing sunset pictures.

I do have a video that some of you have seen that's pretty cool. I have to edit some..parts so that it can get the Ron stamp of approval before posting it for public viewing.

As far as my landing above that tony posted -- it sucked. First landing in the DA-20 in quite some time and I flared too hard. I am pretty impressed that it was able to do that considering how I was extremely slow at about 45 knots with the stall warning screaming the whole way down. Nose came up...Airplane went up.. I released some pressure to prevent the climb and stall and then pulled back again to soften the landing. It wasn't actually a bounce--the wheels never touched. I just got a little carried away :)

Good pic of me taking off. Too bad K did not get the picture of all you as we rotated. She forgot to push the shutter button fully.

Jesse, those are great! Neat sunset photos and the formation pics are also very cool, especially the ones with the water in the background.

I still laugh when I think about how easy it was to pull that sign out of the ground. Or how I even thought of doing that in the first place. :)

very nice jesse. you are right kate that was pretty funny.

awesome ed.

hey do you know if Diz got a copy of the newspaper for me?

sweet, nothing beats being famous in Sidnaw :)

What Tony said. I had the page stuck in cache as well.

Just because people keep giving me crap about that landing. Here is the in cockpit video:

Tony's video makes it look like I had some god awful bounce. If you watch it from in the cockpit you can tell I didn't even touch the ground. I was coming in on final as slow as I possibly could and went to flare. The Diamond has some pretty impressive slow flight abilities and responded more then I had expected. It's possible that I may have caught some wind from the trees because it was gusting and a rough ride down. I was surprised at how drastically the airplane jumped up on me. I knew what was about to happen so I relieved some pressure on the stick and started another flare. You can hear me say: "I suck".

It looked a lot worse on the ground then it actually was in the plane.. In the plane--it was actually nice and smooth :)

That pic of me going over the trees looks way worse that what it really was. But wow!

Good pic of my take off.

BTW Pete I dug out my film camera after that trip. While I am now shooting with my Nikon D80 it was nice to feel the ole OM2n in my hands again. Gosh I love how light and easy to use that camera is!

Yeah that pic of you going over the trees is pretty cool.... I just wish someone would make a digital retrofit for the OM line of cameras. That would be a great setup. Unfortunately the market for that would be relatively limited. I may have to break down and buy a Nikon DSLR someday.

Although shooting Vlevia gives you colors you just can't seem to get when going digital.
