Pax attacks Sightseeing Pilot aloft

About normal for Augsburg. By March, 1/2 the city is suicidal because they haven't seen the sun in 6 months.

Anyone else wonder if the passenger "elected to jump" or if he was "encouraged" by the pilot?

I am certain that, given the choice of being knifed to death or assisting a "passenger" to "elect" to jump, my only concern would be...

...don't leave any blood on the strut.

When he pulled the knife, his Boarding Pass was revoked, retroactively.

Good outcome...for the pilot, plane.
Too bad it doesn't always turn out like that for the pilot and the plane.

THE AIRPLANE WAS OBSERVED FLYING ERRATICALLY AT A LOW ALTITUDE, THEN ENTER A LEFT WING, NOSE LOW ATTITUDE, IMPACTING THE GROUND IN A
RESIDENTIAL AREA. AUTOPSIES ON BOTH OCCUPANTS INCLUDED FINDINGS OF MASSIVE TRAUMATIC INJURIES SUSTAINED DURING A STRUGGLE. THE PASSENGER
REPORTEDLY PLANNED TO TAKE HIS LIFE BY JUMPING OUT OF AN AIRPLANE OVER THE MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO BECAUSE HE BELIEVED HE HAD AN INOPERABLE
BRAIN TUMOR

Yet ANOTHER case where high wing beats low wing.

No matter what the game, no matter what the rules, the same rules apply to both sides.
Anything that happens after a wacko attacks you is self defense. Trust is long gone by that point in the flight and Charon would be well advised to keep an eye on the ceiling for a few minutes.

Low wing is better. There's nothing for Mr Nutjob to possibly hold onto after he's out the door.

yeesh - I heard a story (might be an urban legend) of guy taking a glider intro-ride. Once they were at altitude the guy tried to jump. The problem for the pilot is that he (the pilot) was in the back seat - you can't fly solo from back there, and he wasn't wearing a chute. So he had to wrestle with the front seat passenger to keep him from jumping until they could get back on the ground (the way the story was told to me was that he put the aircraft into a 60* banked emergency descent and hoped the Gs would keep the guy pinned).

In William Langeweische's Inside the Sky: A Meditation on Flight he recounts the story of flying charter in South texas. In one case he picks up a suspected drug runner and is afraid they'll do him in once they arrive at the remote location. So once airborne he flew the entire flight full throttle at about 10' AGL.

He figured the pax would realize any move would mean instant blammo.
