Part 141 Hour requirements

Hey guys, I am presently getting my instrument, commercial and multi ratings in Florida. The school advertised a jet course, but they no longer have functionality nor certification.

Apparently the simulator time covered 20 hours of dual instruction required for the program. Now they insist that we do a 20 hours dual time, whatever we wish to do in order to make up for this shortfall.

Can anyone shed more light on this? Do i really need to do the extra dual time? I did use extra hours in my Instrument training as i did my PPL over a decade ago, can those hours go towards this 20 hour dual time?

Be aware. Be very aware.

Sounds to me the money is running short. I say this because my first choice in a flight school was still accepting students up to the day they closed the door and filed bankruptcy.

Fortunately I had not sent my check yet when they shut down.

I may be wrong but I would rather be safe than sorry I lost money.

First post. Welcome to PoA. I would agree, sounds a little shady, financial problems might be starting for that school...

If you are around the Orlando area check out Sim Comm, look them up on the web. They have a jet transition course along with a high altitude course.I also agree on being very carefull with their motives, it does sound like they are having money issues or trouble with the FAA in their training.Have a plan b and be ready to jump ship and have a place to land (no pun intended).
