PA28 Archer II Check Out

I don't know what this 'slow down' thing you mentioned is. I'm not flying to slow down so I can fit a "why can't all us cherokees just get along" flying profile. on paper, yes, they're all cherokees. in the air they are different airplanes.

The ONLY reason ATC will care is if you're gaining on another aircraft. For crossing separation, the difference isn't nearly great enough to matter. Maybe if you put a turbojet on it.

and that's the only reason why I care. but although you are correct in saying ON PAPER an archer is a cherokee, from a piloting perspective, they are different. or so eman1200 thinks. that's my only point.

If you're gaining on another aircraft, you will need to slow down, whether ATC calls you an Arrow or a Cherokee or a Concorde.

The point is performance -- and if you're gaining, it's slow speed performance. Not "junk" comparison.

.....and I'm done with this thread.

They're not different enough to matter.

If I'm inbound behind a Cherokee 140, I don't freak out because I think I'm going to drive up his tail.

Mine is a 1970. Wonder how close the numbers are.

Cool! It may have already been sold - will have to ask my dad what is going on...it was in spectacular shape so I am sure it went/will go quick.
