Too many choices these days, which one is the ordinary, flexible red rubber air hose? I don't believe I have ever shopped for one.

-pvc sounds... like a temporary hose.
-"Vytacord"?
-"Pliovic"??
-nylon?
-reinforced rubber?
-"EPDM"?

ah yes,.. the mission. To get 150psi air from compressor to tire. 50' max. Will want to install my own ends.

Then build the whole thing, NAPA for a low pressure fuel hose, and 2 hose barbs, clamps, and a couple quick disconnects ..

better than you can buy.

I still have to buy hose. Not sure which type.

I think Tom was suggesting the use of low pressure fuel hose from an auto parts store.

Funny that you write this thread--the big box Home Depot near me has a fairly good range of fittings, connectors and couplers (including barbed ones) in the air tools aisle, but I could not locate any "air hose" on their bulk reels...

Thanks, I missed that.
Our Napa has max 25' rolls and it is 1.18 per foot.
That means a splice and it's pretty pricey.
I think I can do better.

Harbor Fright? Haven't priced their hose but their (lack of) quality might be ok ...

No, it means two hoses 25 feet long. seldom use a 50' hose in the shop.but I have 4, 25 footers.

Way back when I was active duty I found a old TT206 pitot test set in the dumpster, they had 4 100' 1/4 hoses attached, guess where the hoses went:)

Just bought a 25' one from harbor freight yesterday, $7.99 (I think the 50' one was 17 bucks). The ends were 99 cents a piece. That and a 44 buck aircompressor, hopefully they will last for the week that I need it.

The pvc stuff is really pretty tough. The advantage is it's light. I bought a 100' roll to use with my 100 psi pnuematic framing nailer, rather tha drag aound heavy hose. I think the hose might have been rated double that.
The drawback? Mice love to chew on it. I didn't store it over the winter in a covered container in the barn, and in the spring i had a gazillion little pinholes.

Doesn't that pvc have a strong memory too? Tries to retain its coil shape? I'd be tripping on it all day.

went to the 'car a+p' shop today, he had a black hose as linked, hates it.

ha, the local hardware guy came over and brought exactly the hose I need. Thanks for your input.

No I told him on the phone what I am looking for, he had it for about 60c/ft. :)
He doesn't even have a computer! Overheard him talking last week, he is a long-ago pilot - had no idea. Probably 75+.

reinforced rubber, 3/8", flexible, poor memory, red - looks like the shop hoses many garages have had for 100 years (the most important point; longevity) and it was 28$ for 60', delivered and payment terms available!
