Oops thought that thar road was the runway...RV-7

Looks like the pilot may have had second thoughts,while giving his statement. May have had a touch of spatial orientation,at a strange field.
 
Well, hitting a basketball hoop, phone lines, and a car is Ok, but hitting three mail boxes is definitely on the no no list. Mailboxes are official locations to which mail can be delivered, which makes them protected under federal law.....:rolleyes: :lol::lol:

Sounds as if there were no injuries, so there is a happy ending to the story.
 
It looks like a grass strip flanked by two side roads. Lots of obstacles (trees, mailboxes, etc.) very close to the roads.
 
A zoom climb would have prevented all this.
 
His statement sounds fishy, but you never know.

Gee, I got to land it on this skinny runway when there's a 100 foot wide stretch of grass to my left. Funny, they even put the Runway number in the middle of the grass instead of on the pavement like most airports.
