One Hit Wonders

Probably too obscure to actually be a one hit wonder. Another KSHE classic. You've probably never heard of it if you didn't grow up in St. Louis or Chicago in the 70s or early 80s. Freaking great song!

Edit: BTW, Jeremiah, of "Aliotta-Haynes-Jeremiah" was indeed the "Jeremiah" who "was a bullfrog" and "who was a good friend of mine".

Being a Chicagoan, I love that song, but never knew that trivia!

I remember that tune!

"Vehicle" by the Ides of March, 1970

Hey well, I'm the friendly stranger in the black sedan
Won't you hop inside my car
I got pictures, got candy, I'm a lovable man
And I can take you to the nearest star

I'm your vehicle, baby
I'll take you anywhere you wanna go
I'm your vehicle, woman
But now I'm sure you know

That I love ya
(Love ya)
I need ya
(Need ya)
I want ya
Got to have you child
Great God in Heaven you know I love you

Now that was a hit!

Henning does have good taste, but we must go to the 80's.

Bonus points for wearing her actual Las Vegas High School uniform (and who knew there was a Director's Cut?):

BTW, my most recent favorite (not sure one can call it a hit), discovered well before the Jeremy Abbott hip slam routine in Sochi, thank you very much: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=je0lFe0MHjU

Of that there is no doubt...I DO like the way you got tow of their tunes into the thread..

I was just posting their version of the song...

Heh - I liked them. A lot of bar bands in my day used to cover Train, Train. Highway Song is just too long.

How about The Outlaws?

Now I'm giving away a lot of what I used to listen to.

Edit: forgot, they weren't one-hitters either. D'oh!

I played all of those songs (Blackfoot/Outlaws) in the few bands I played in in the 80's.

We had a lot of fun with the Outlaws tunes...

This one would get every biker in the place on his feet...

It was trip to see 100 drunk bikers singing yipppie kiyaaaaaa yippy kiiyoooo in falsetto.

Keep in mind that bikers in the 80's are a bit different than they are today

Head East isn't a OHW.

True enough. But I'm amazed so many have never heard of them.
