Wanna run up to Edmonton and pick up my engine mount? It's probably still there...

Well I checked and it looks like the mount is somewhere south of Calgary.

I shoulda just told the folks at Acorn to hold for pick-up and you coulda strapped it to the top of the twin Cessna or something. Nobody woulda noticed it there.

That would be an interesting test - roof rack packing for 430 KTAS. Mari doesn't fly just any twin Cessna, you know. ;)

(hey, I still remember the tail number of her "twin Cessna", too!)

What is your engine mount doing up here anyway? Couldn't find anyone in the US to do a good job?

What'd ya mean? All those twin Cezznas are the same. Sure, some have a fancy paint job and a few even have a 430 in the dash. At the end of the day they're just another tin can from Wichita with a large fuel burn and a slow approach speed.:D

It's an airplane part, I'm not sure I can anyone to rebuild it right. The guys that do a good job are well hidden 'cause the folks that know them keep'em to themselves so they'll be available when needed. In other words, I'm too new in the game - haven't found the right folks yet.

Well, it looks like the mount made it to Salt Lake. With my luck somebody will drop a pallet of anvils on it while loading it on the trailer headed for Denver...

What do you mean "roof-packing"? I'm pretty sure an engine mount for a little bitty Piper would fit easily in our baggage compartment which is comparatively huge for an airplane this size. :)

Spying again, eh?

That was my other thought, but Clark mentioned strapping it to the roof.

I wasn't sure what speed you filed for. So I looked. :)

I'm happy about that slow approach (and takeoff) speed... she says after she has just calculated the takeoff distance on a snow-covered runway.

It's cold so I'll feel at home when I get there. Flying in to ABQ Sunday PM, work Monday AM and back out Monday PM.

Should feel just like home, no need for any extra clothes or bathing suit.

So you deny that the weekly Canada flights are just beer runs to keep the displaced Canadians back in Denver and Dallas happy? Isn't the cabin and baggage space packed full of beer? Anyway, that's what the word on the street is...

100 bottles of beer on the wall... I mean in the baggage compartment. :aureola:

somehow the thought of smuggling beer out of Canadia strikes me as funny :D

My oldest girl had the nerve to complain about the temp at her college in Northhampton yesterday. Their low was our high in KS. The hangar got real cold when we opened the doors.

Uncle Al's global warming is supposed to bring us 4-8" of snow and 35 kt winds on Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm afraid the Chief is hangared until spring. Oh, and we were at -12C this AM.

But you can still wear sandals...just pull on some socks!

One of the girls I work with came in wearing flip flops when it was -2F. Someone said she should wear boots or at least socks and she said it's not cold enough yet. (She's an outdoor kid from Wisconsin)
