Old Piper Video???

I've watched a video on the web within the last couple of years thar featured a chap learning to fly in a Tri-Pacer. He then used the plane in his business delivering supplies to customers in the field. I tried to find it again to no avail.

If I could just remember where I saw it----- Google hasn't been too helpful.

As I remember it was an early Piper Aircraft advertising movie. I can't remember if he learned to fly first or if the flight lessons were a second part of the movie.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I'd sure like to see it again.

I believe you're thinking of the "Airports mean Business" old video on the FAA archive site on YouTube, or the "General Aviation: Fact or Fiction" film.

I had posted that link in a previous thread and remember seeing a segment like you described in one of those films on the site.

Tractor dealer in Caro Michigan in the 50's had a PA20 Pacer he would load repair parts in and then land in the field near to the broken down combine, etc... No one even thought it was strange in those days - most airports still being grass... Of course, in those days a mere mortal could diagnose and repair equipment out in the field... These days it takes a proprietary computer diagnostic set to figure out why the machine is burping and then the parts have to be ordered from Asia...
