I'm just tired of having to have good thoughts for people who are hurt or sick!

Next person to be be hurt, get sick or die will have to get in line behind Anthony and Scott to be flogged with a wet noodle!

Seriously everyone, take care of yourselves and be safe (specially at Gastons). I really hate to see all these threads and know another member of my commumity is in need of good thoughts and prayers.

Enough sadness we need some happyness... Baby? Wedding?? Graduation??? Something????

Getting better? :):) Thanks Missa! I was discharged from the hospital (straight out of ICU) on Sunday afternoon, but have been slow to post much in that I'm trying to take it real easy for a while. It's nothing less than amazing really...brain surgery on Thursday (yes, they found one in there!)...and home to sleep in my own bed on Sunday!

But yes, I certainly know what you mean. I just discovered the thread about Bob yesterday, and now Nick.:(:( Man.
 
Good! A bit of good news is welcome. Glad to hear your doing better Frank. I had a freind who had surgery on his neck to suck out some heirnated disk material and they had him out of the hospital in 24hrs, it was considered outpatient surgery. It's nuts how little they keep you anymore.

All quiet here, but come July 11... I'll get back on-line as quickly after as I can and let you know how it turned out. Damned cancer stuff, anyway. :mad:

Thanks Missa. This year's problems are starting to get to me and someone or something has got to put a stop to it.
I'll supply the wet noodles if required but they better not be required because I'll place a double order and we'll use them up twice as fast.

Ok. Something anyway... In spite of all the problems we had with sick/dying people... We had a smashing success (packed the house until the walls were bulging and kids were practically sitting on the stage) this spring at the local theatre putting on a never before seen the light of day first run production. I had the honor of being Stage Manager, and more, for the whole thing. There. How's that?

Last month I graduated from law school and found out that I passed the bar exam on my first attempt. -- does that count as happy cheery bouncy...?

Well, I'm still alive and walking upright.

After one month here, Her Majesty returned to Fort Lauderdale on June 03. We're both still alive and speaking. After all that's been accomplished, that's good! The builder came to start a project; the electricians were here for two days and shall return when the sheet-rockers are finished; I'm sitting here while surrounded by electric fans and an industrial dehumidifier(drying the mudding); the sanding will be done tomorrow; the builder shall be back on Monday for finishing touches; the painter(Her Majesty's original brother in-law from way-back) shall arrive for duty; the newly-purchased deck furniture got partly painted(by Her Majesty); two freezing compartments are filled with home cooking that'll fix me for a while;the driveway paving contractor would have been here but for the death of his mother; the Wind Energy Tower proposed ordinance is on the warrant for the June 14 Town Meeting(my project is the "Test Case.")

"Hale the Deck With Boughs of Folly -- Fa la la la laaaaa." But I was informed that if I got out of line I'd be hanging from the lighthouse(visible in photo #3). All the above is pretty "happy, cheery, bouncy."

Well, not really a baby, but I just adopted him from the Rescue League today.

I'm getting married in a week and a day. But I'm missing Gastons for it. Woops, back to sad news :).
 
More good news.

As some of you know I have been taking care of my step-father who entered the hospital last December with kidney, heart, and lung failure. Two weeks ago one of his blood values was of a certain level that could indicate bone cancer. Well after all the tests he has no bone cancer at all. Jsut some arthritis. So some good news at least.

That is good news!

How about this, since I'm not going to Gaston's that will mean that I should have some more time to spend doing instrument lessons, so that I have a higher probability of going next year. :yes:

Oh, and I may buy a motorcycle this weekend... :D

Reading what Ken and Kate went through last night I am glad we are staying put.

Before long I'm going to make the announcement of my crazy motorcycle road trip that I'm doing later this summer (maybe I'll go do that now), with a solicitation for anyone who'd be interested in having lunch with me to let me know. Perhaps that is how I'll get a chance to meet some of the fine folks on here.

Agreed... it seems that the instrument folks are having a rough enough time of it in more capable planes that me in the little Archer VFR only would not have been happy. Something about better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, I suppose.

Or.... since your not going to Gaston's you could come over to my house and help me clean the pine needles out of the gutters... :D:D:D

Or at least come over while I do it so someone is around to take me to the hospital if I should fall. :fcross:

Please be extremely careful if you use a ladder Missa! Seriously, I never would have thought a ladder to be a real hazard until a friend at work fell from one getting off the roof of his house. He fell when he was only 2 steps from the bottom, and twisted his leg so badly it nearly twisted off at the ankle. He was out of work for nearly a year! Just saying...please be careful.

This is why I will not consider going up without someone else at my house. If Ted doesn't come over I was Planing on doing on Sunday while the boyfreind was there. This is one thing I hate to do... I'm scared of heights.:redface:

Just got back from Mexico last week - a week without POA. Best wishes and "get well" prayers to all who need it - too many posts to catch up on them all, and I'll surely miss a few if I tried.

Heck, just ask Mary See about the dangers of ladders! She wasn't able to partake of the pleasures of Gaston's as she usually is because of an injury sustained falling from a ladder!:hairraise: She was starting to feel better, though!:yes:

On the positive side, we have a lot of new people here on PoA!:yes:

If the gutter & pine needles are dry, pay yourself a visit to the local home improvement store that sells power tools. Some companies make attachments for their leaf blowers that let you clean gutters with them (basically they're long air tubes with a bent section on top). I've used one for a number of years and found it to be a huge time/effort saver. I end up hand cleaning gutters with the ladder about once a year - when spring oak pollen comes down and gets matted in the gutter after a rain storm.

Definatly not dry. The one is so clogged that the neigbor said he saw water glissining in it. Luckly the roofers are starting this week to fix my leaky vallys... I'm planning on batting the eyelashes and waving a $20 or two to see if they will do it while they are up there.

That should work. :) Might take a couple of 20's, but it's well worth it.

I'm close. Ma is the same way. Only gutter I really like is the one over the side door that keeps water from falling on my head.

I also have a wet basement problem and I'm not sure if removing the gutters will exasprate the problem. Unfortuantly around here the wet basement is what you get if you want a house. EVERY house I looked at in Williamsport had a wet basement.
