Allowing about a minute extra drain-time after each bottle empties leaves some oil residue in the bottle.

How much? A roughly 15 minute draining of each of 11 bottles produces about 8 ounces of oil total. That’s about a quarter quart or a couple of bucks worth.

I just bring the bottles home and let them drain upside down overnight and bring that oil back to the airplane next flight. I got exactly the same amount (4 oz from 5 quarts) from X/C
