Alrighty gang... Tropical Storm Don has formed near the Yucatan Peninsula and is forecast to make landfall sometime this Friday night/Saturday morning.. At this point its forecast to remain as a TS, and the outlook is for it to land north of Corpus, putting Port Aransas on the dirty side of the storm, if not the site of eyefall.

I know Jay has traded blizzards for Hurricanes, but having been a coastal Texan for much of my life, I would recommend getting off the island by Thursday night at the latest, before the surge/tide makes the Ferry shut down and one gets stuck on the island.

I pretty sure Jay's at OSH and probably won't return home until Sunday. Of course who knows what he'll find when they get home.

Latest forecast tonight is "Tropical Storm", staying away from that "H" word.
After that last one that hit the Texas coast a few years ago, I'm surprised he went south.

That storm is supposed to push into west TX, NM and AZ by the weekend and push more "monsoon" into south NV. We have 30% forecast for TRW this weekend, but it makes for great soaring weather until the OD.

All of Texas will be happy for the rain.
Jay, weaken the winds before you send it inland, OK?
