I hate being right all of the time.I am sure that the Chinese will be given the opportunity to closely examine the wreckage before it is returned to us. Then we will be able to buy reverse engineered Low Observable Blackhawks from them. The toy model will be at Wal Mart in a week or two.
Oh I have to borrow that!Is it FDA Approved?
Best set of pictures I've seen so far from the site, all are high quality large images.

If we're going to argue over whether he was "caught and killed" we have to argue:... (Bin Ladin wasn't 'caught and killed'. He was simply 'killed')
I think we could all agree, at least, that he was "killed and caught".
If we're going to argue over whether he was "caught and killed" we have to argue:
A ) distinctions regarding the definition of the term "to catch"
B ) whether "A and B" implies "A then B" chronologically
You're absolutely right, I completely forgot about the release. Seems less like fishing and more like a waste of bait.More of a 'kill, catch & release'. Slightly unsportsmanlike behaviour![]()

I don't see ANY unsportsmanlike behavior at all. I'll guarantee you I'm not gonna lose any sleep over the circumstances of his "untimely" demise.
Very ingenious use of google to 'bend' a story. Sadly I just helped them to do that by clicking the link.

As long as they wanted. The Pakistanis are real good friends with the Chinese.2) how long did China, or anybody else, have to inspect it?

Well, yeah. I'll bet we paid some pretty healthy ransom for something that's not even worth recovering anymore. Once it left our control, it's pretty much worthless now.
OK, so I was off a few weeks.I am sure that the Chinese will be given the opportunity to closely examine the wreckage before it is returned to us. Then we will be able to buy reverse engineered Low Observable Blackhawks from them. The toy model will be at Wal Mart in a week or two.
There were more than two helos. There were a couple Chinooks with back up teams and yes I bet we had assets on the ground. The details of this mission may never be publicly known.

Business speak. You're either an asset or a liability. The former has the required skills to get the job done, the latter gets RIF'd. Management all over likes to sound kewl so they make up new terms all the time. If it catches on, they're the heroes. It only really bugs me when people removed from the situation (like OBAMA) use the phrase. (Yeah Dude, I'm kewl. (View of Gene Wilder in Silver Streak!)Where does this stuff come from anyway? "Assets" on the ground? When I was doing that kinda thing, (you know, in the military.) we called them people, not assets. Does it come from Hollywood, does the military come up with it, perhaps from a James Bond type book?
Cool speak I guess. Anyone know?

The movie is already in the works, that should get us the truth.![]()

Here is a link to the Reuters report, which does not require a subscription like the one Gary posted. It's official. The Chinese got to examine the special Blackhawk. Now maybe they will sell them to us real cheap.

I think the best way to say this is that it is highly probable from the information received that the Chinese saw this helo. The disclosure, if confirmed, is likely to further shake the U.S.-Pakistan relationship

I guess you did predict the future. Good call although it wasn't too hard to predict huh! Our friends the Pakistanis.![]()
Just an FYI the USA was a major buyer of USSR equipment, secret and otherwise that ended up in the ME and other countries. There is a whole division in the military called the Foreign Technology Division, that works with captured and purchased foreign gear. One of the more famous aquistions was the MIG 25 that we got from Japan when the pilot who flew it defected with it in the 1970sThat's also the risk that you run by operating top secret equipment outside your borders, and especially in hostile territory. I don't think it should be much of a surprise that a country in the Middle East would auction off things that we left there to the highest bidder.
