Yeah, not the top of the list of a Tourist destination, but if you need to clear into Mexico from points north, this is the place to do it.

Compared to Monterrey, the people in NL speak great English, the Commandant's office is friendly and Juan spoke perfect English. He even gave me his cell number in case I ever needed to get a hold of him in the future. Customs and Immigration had already left for the day, and he called them and had them come back to get me checked in on a Friday afternoon.

He is a pilot, owns a Rans home built and fly's around the local area. Invited me to come down and spend a day in town with him to show me it isn't nearly as bad as the press make it out to be.

A true ambassador to GA, to Mexico and to NL. I was in and out on Friday afternoon in 1.5 hours, which included getting a multi entry permit, fueling ($5.18 full service), clearing into the country with Customs and Immigration and filing my flight plan on to MMAN.

They even let me pay with a credit card for the Multi Entry Permit, where in Monterrey, you have to go to the bank next door and pay them with cash.

Since my Cherokee takes a fuel stop between Ft. Worth and Monterrey (with a headwind), I'll make this a regular stop on my way south.
