My girlfriend and I were just having this "discussion" the other day. "We" demand cheaper and cheaper tickets from the airlines, and then cry foul when we get bumped, or a flight is oversold. "We" also cry foul when our "cheap" airline attempts to control costs by deferring mx, or adding rows to already cramped aircraft. I'm not excusing Allegiant in any way, shape or form. "We" want to have it both ways, and "we" cannot.

That is a great point. Everyone wants to have their cake and eat it too these days.

Also, how about the one lady that said "I don't sweat, and I was dripping!"

Someone walk me through the part about the public demanding lower fares; I missed it or don't understand it. Maybe it's their response to our ticket selection based on price? I don't see that as demanding - I think there is a large segment willing to pay more to be, well, treated nice.

Apparently not. Basically, the internet has allowed direct price comparison and people voted with their wallets. n-1 < n and all that. I don't pick flights that way but the airlines with lower prices get business and complaints. But how many who complain book with them again? (I'll also add, I live in Orlando so I do not have to deal with a place with 1 carrier. All bets are off in that case.)

Yeah. There have been several people that thought that when they started their full-service airline. I can't recall the names now, but I remember some of them going out of business because people when the rubber met the road, people bought the cheaper ticket on the cheaper airline.

I have flown Allegiant a time or two, can't really complain (except for the lady working the counter one time but I won't get into that), it's convenient where I live and cheap, I don't expect it to be anything fancy, it's a budget airline, if it gets me where I want to go in once piece for cheap, the little stuff doesn't really bother me. And in this day in time, people have become such victims about everything that I highly doubt few if any people actually fainted, (maybe an elderly person which would be very unfortunate).

I've flown allegiant a few times... other than one 2 landings where I thought we crashed... I haven't had any complaints...

ok, if the plane turned around in the air, it has nothing to do with ground cooling pacs.
The article is kinda dumb....

I've never demanded anything from an airline other than to get me from where I am to where I want to go when they say they'll do it. If they continue to offer inexpensive fares I will happily purchase them. But I still expect them to get me from where I am to where I want to go when they say they'll do it. If they can't do that for the money I give them, that's their problem, not mine.

Just flew and had one of our packs deferred and we got a line check. It was a fun flight.

Airliners are very complicated machines and stuff breaks, don't matter how much you pay for (or don't pay) and airline ticket.

I guess I'm missing out, because I only see fares getting more expensive, and I live in a major hub.
