Northwest Snow

The current snowpack bodes well for water supplies next year as well as providing winter fun for mountain people. I did get a lot more flying in last winter than I am this year. Bad weather may be good for snowpack, but it is keeping my plane on the ground more than I'd like. Sigh.

We got all of yours last winter(Northeast) you can have all of ours this winter. Might hit 70 tomorrow in Boston.

Was at an Eagles game last week in a T-shirt! Weathers been crazy warm.

Boston is going to experience record warm for Chritmas. Starting the drive south ,looks like rain and warm for the week end.

2 feet in Steamboat in the last 48 hours. Champagne Powder Days!!!

Cheers

That all sounds so nice. I shall raise my gin and tonic in toast to our NW friends - as I float around in the pool !

It's all good, just make the most of it, dust off your snowboard or skis, swap your tundras for pen skis, get some good boots and it's all gravey!

I wish all this rain we're getting in Ohio was snow!

Buffalo is free of snow for the first time in a century.

The down side is Lake Erie is staying warm which means the lake effect snow machine is gonna be turbocharged.

And then the airports will close for snow removal. Can't fly cause of rain, can't fly cause of snow. Best not to get the snow.

They can get them plowed reasonably fast. Didn't have a problem last winter flying a day after a big snow storm multiple times. It's Christmas and it's in the 60s....I'd much rather have snow.

Yeah... I was driving up from Portland yesterday and all of the signs on I-5 mentioned that on I-90... Gotta love Seattle traffic. :mad2:

Snoqualmnie Pass (I-90) has gotten 107" of snow this week. 24" last night. Ski Lodges are loving it, but their customers can't get there.

btw.....it's 74 where I am.....and the windows are wide open (with the ceiling fan running). :D

76 here in SE Virginia... Calling for 70 on Christmas /w rain...:yikes: Thinking about a cookout just because...:goofy::goofy::goofy:

Las Vegas NV, Mid 50s today, 40nm winds tonight as the front approaches. Colder and breezy on Christmas Day. Saturday, high might get to 40 and windy.

This is the trailing end of the front that dumped the snow in Oregon and Northern California.
Colder here than in Boston.

Be joyous that you are not receiving the brunt of the worst storm in Washington's resent memory. (15' 0f snow in 5 days)

Looks like we'll exceed 80 in New Orleans. Disgusting.

Its been interesting, to say the least. Solid 18" of snow in the orchard. Kubota is out of commission right now, and I'm really really happy Pete bought a snow thrower a couple years ago.

Snoqualmie is open, as of 0500 this morning. DOT crews have been doing an awesome job of cleaning up the mess.

Here in the high desert we are having winds up to 35, occasional snow showers, occasional sun, mud and the temperature is around 37 degrees, with forecast lows in the single to the minus single digits for the next few nights.

Last week the highs were in the upper 50s but with the abundant sunshine it was almost short sleeve weather.

But Monday kicks your ass/

After Hurricanes Betsy, Camille, Andrew, Juan, Katrina, et al., we can take it. Just not very Christmassy. :-/

Merry Christmas to you two. Let's hope all this snow makes for a quieter fire season next summer.
