No more mortgage.

Good work! I've been mortgage free for 12 years now. Most people wouldn't have lived in my house when I bought it, but it's improved and paid off.

I keep trying a similar suggestion at my house and for some reason the suggestion is only met with this look.

It is better to seek forgiveness than to ask permission.

Well maybe not better. More effective? Maybe. If you like sleeping outside in the doghouse, for example.

Here's another approach. Badger with constant comments about desired acquisition. At some point, she will utter a resigned/bored grunt which I always take for an OK (it's probably just to indicate she is still aware that you are saying something, although she's not really listening and has no idea what you are saying). Make acquisition. When she asks "When did we decide to do this?????" You can say, "honey, we discussed this. Don't you remember?":ihih:

I got rid of my mortgage with my ex wife and am debt free as well, but then, I don't own anything....

She told me I could buy this plane.

We were flying in a rental to Vicksburg, MS. and she mentioned how fun it was to be able to do these trips. She then said 'you would probably want your own airplane sometime'. This started a whole conversation and of course we discussed cost. Then she said, 'well if you can show me the numbers that we can afford it I see no reason not to get a plane'.

THAT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!!

Three months later I showed her the report on how we could afford a plane, where we would keep it, had all the quotes in it and referenced to verifiable and credible sources. I presented her with my ownership paper and announced that I have started the search for o OUR airplane. Six months later we got our plane.

No back room dealings or begging for forgiveness. Just gave her what she wanted!!! LOL!

Basically she told me to buy it!

Can't go lower than 350 - at least with FICO. It always bugs me how Dave Ramsey says his score is zero. It doesn't start at zero.

Then I guess mine would be considered a "null"? I literally have no score at all, I don't show up on the credit computer even at my own bank. "My credit score .com" and those sites error on me.

And that, folks, describes the kind of woman we pilots would refer to as a 'keeper.':D
