Palm Treo 680

Half of home page is dark grid (top) - not too useful. Seems similar on all pages.

Other than that, renders and reads just fine. Links seem good.

Hmmm... I wonder if the Treo has issues with PNG files...

Looks and loads fine on the iPhone 3G with only two bars of strength.

Okay, thanks everyone. Now to monetize it.

Spike, I changed the logo graphic to a JPG. I think it should work now.

And, indeed, it is.

Makes me want to scurry right out and build a 'puter!

You and a lot of other people. The full version of that site draws 800 - 1,000 unique visitors a day. Some of them send me email progress reports of their projects, which is also kind of cool.

Thanks.

Blackberry 9300
- default browser loads very fast, displays full page without side to side scrolling, very legible font.
- Bolt browser loads slower than default browser (surprised me), font is smaller and less legible
- Opera mini browser, loads almost as fast as default browser, same font and legibility as default browser.

Original Motorola Droid, Android 2.2:

Renders perfectly, and is fully functional.

Thanks, Greg. I defined the font sizes in CSS as percentages of the default font sizes for the browser, rather than strictly. That seems to work better across the zillions of mobile browsers, but I guess there are exceptions to every rule.

I like doing mobile sites, but all those browsers... sheesh.

Thanks again,

Rich

Thanks.

I kind of like building mobile sites because they remind me of old-school coding, back in dialup days, when every kb was agonized over.

Nowadays the speed capabilities of mobile devices range from not much better than dialup, to wicked-fast 4G. I tend to shoot for the middle. I also assume that the phone itself may not be a speed champ, because that makes a difference, too.
