- - - - to Boothbay Harbor yesterday. Gorgeous day, a bit windy, and quite a lot of bow slap.

No, sillies; not that boat. The tender this sucker was towing is probably longer than my 20' vessel. This one came abeam during my return trip to Five Islands. Location was a couple miles out of Boothbay Harbor, before passing Cuckolds Light Station which is offshore of Cape Newagen/Southport Island. With one of those, who the heck would need a house? (And it was a lot smoother cruise during the return trip; had to clean the spray off the wind shield from the first trip, while docked and prior to setting the mooring at about 6:30.) The Harbor was just full of gorgeous toys; one motor/sailor must have been at least 70' and its hull # was 72.

One of my clients just bought a place on Peet Island(sp?) What's the aviation related scoop? Nearest ap etc? It's the ME coast, so it's assumed gorgeous...

Might you be referring to Peaks Island? If so, it's just a short ferry ride from Portland waterfront(Casco Bay Lines) to Peaks. The nearest airport, of course, is Portland International Jetport KPWM.

Here's a shot I took of a car on the ferry to Peaks. Note the state; guess "they" must like getting away for the island life. Peaks is part of Portland; however, the residents have made several attempts to secede(from the city) but said activities have been blocked by the Maine legislature. They keep trying because they pay Portland taxes but get not many of the public services the main-landers get.
