I wanted to buy something meaningful and appreciable for the two grandsons who are 7 and 9. But the "appreciable" would only come with age; not the boys' current ages, but the era yet a generation away.

A couple miles south of my house is the Georgetown Historical Society; and Dahlov was doing a signing. Dahlov lives a couple miles north of my house and has lived within the family compound since before I can remember. Her late husband Adolph, with his trusty Canon F-1, was a long time customer at my camera store. Dahlov didn't fool with cameras; her medium was elsewhere.

So I went to see Dahlov and she endorsed to each of the boys a different book of her many publications. I'm thinking that when the boys get to be 25 or 30 years old Dahlov would be 111/116(based on youngest grandson) or 113/118(based on older boy). Well, that won't happen, she being 93 as of a few days ago. But world-famous as she has been for many years, it would seem if the personally-signed books are properly maintained they might be worth a bundle -- sometime. So all I can say is, come end of December,
"These aren't coloring books; each must be read and appreciated, and given excellent care, and some day - - - -" But what's the chance of that, considering the ages of the boys? And to their parents? "Be aware; guide the boys."

As for the PoA community, Google Dahlov Ipcar and it'll take quite some time to read through the bucket of "hits." Or Google William Zorach(Dahlov's famous father; or Tessim, Marguerite, or Peggy(all Zorach). They all lived "j'st up th' r'd a piece." And Dahlov just keeps painting, writing, publishing, and captivating newer generations. She's a gem.
