LOL! Did a search on Amazon for office chairs, and on a whim sorted by price, highest to lowest - first few pages returned are between $10K and $32K.

No way a Tomahawk only costs $30K in today's stupid market!
 
Two thoughts:

1. When a seller/drop shipper runs out of product, they will put a ridiculous price in something as a placeholder until they get more stock.

2. Money laundering.
 
I am dealing with inflated prices on an industrial switch mechanism. My price from distributor is $110, up from $90, but the lead time went to 10+ weeks, found 2 on eBay for $270, and another 2 for $325. And went up from there.
 
I thought you meant a chair for the price of a bone in steak.
 
Hopefully they give a smoother ride than a Tomahawk.
 
It’s either

a) a scam item, Amazon is filled with them now and refuses to do barely anything. Most likely in my mind

or

b) a pricing algorithm fluke. My advisor once printed and posted the amazon listing for his specialized, low-volume textbook. Normally sold for $120 or so, Amazon randomly priced it at $10,000 which we all thought was quite amusing
 
And search engines - I entered "Office chair" in Consumer Report's site and it cam back with kid's high chairs. . . I add an "s" to make it "Office Chairs" and then it worked.
