Hi everyone.

What type of issues can you encounter if you become a moderator?

Can you find out if that site has any issues before becoming one?
Thanks.

Oh, the pitfalls. Your responsibility is to enforce the ROCs, and the pitfall is that it is a responsibility and you get tired of it after some amount of time. I was an admin level mod on a sportbike forum for years. Power tripping isn't as fun as it sounds like it should be.

Depends on the site and management/moderarion style.

You get the headache associated with the position,I would study the rules that your responsible to enforce, and see if your in agreement . Go for it you can always step down.

Hit up pilotspin.com and search for "POA" and just marvel at how Mods are perceived as some combination of Stalin and the Sanhedrin.

"A+. Can Recommend." :)

You'll have to learn to agree with people that you disagree with ...

I think one of the mods on that site Lucifer.

That forum doesn't moderate... except ubiquitous spammers get tossed.

Hi everyone.
Thank you for your input. In the old days of BBS I spent some time doing something similar but I think they were different times and people behaved differently.
Now days you have to spend a lot of time on the Inet to do a good job and I am not sure that is something I can allocate all the resources needed to take on something like this.
Thanks again.

You have to be ok with absorbing vitriol, while rarely (if ever) receiving thanks. Because you do a lot of invisible work that no one knows is happening. And have to make hard decisions sometimes.
