Bro do you even lift
is there a golf thread yet? you know, to talk about any aspect of golf? I have to imagine there are a few golfers out there.

right now I have a bad case of the duck hooks. anyone have any cures for that? it's new to me (as opposed to slicing) so I'm not sure what I need to do to fix, suggestions welcome.

You're not transferring your weight to your left side and you're probably over torquing your right wrist. Could be as simple as the club head turned inward instead of level with your target.

I'm naturally good at most sports. Golf isn't one of them. I can whack a baseball, but I can't hit a golf ball to save my life.

I've been told I'm a danger to myself and others on the golf course.

I used to be real good at golf when I was younger. Shot about par or less. I could teach someone to be better than I will ever be again. Playing today just ****es me off, but I do it once in a while.

If your hooking, it is most likely that your club is beating your rotation to the ball. I would also suggest taking a tee and place it about 3 inches past the ball and about an inch or 2 to the right which may also fix the issue with your hook if your swinging from the outside to the inside. Try to swing through your ball to and hit that tee. Try to time your swing to have more a square contact.

I'd much rather clean the belly of the plane than play golf, and I *never* clean the belly of the plane.

I've shot 120 a time or two. :D

Beat my brother the one time we played (tells you how well he plays). His point was that these scores keep his cost per stroke down. :D:D

Golf/aviation related: Check out 5F0 (Arcadia) in N. Louisiana. Looks like they built a course around a runway. I'm planning on heading up there in the next few weeks to embarrass myself.

Well, I'm no help. I gave it up years ago after spending far too much time in the woods looking for my balls.

Hate golf. Will happily drive golfers around on the cart and drink beer.

I think McFly is partially correct on both accounts. I'll be working on those today at my work golf league, which is more about drinking beer and occasionally swinging a club.

but fly-to golf location suggestions are HIGHLY encouraged in this thread. I think I posted a vid a month or two back about my trip to KSOP (southern pines/pinehurst) for a round of golf with a buddy. that was a fun trip.

Can't say what you are doing wrong without seeing what your swing plane is.

Shelter Cove (0Q5) is a nice little coastal airport in Mendocino county, California. Golfing is on field - literally. The runway splits a golf course. Yes you find golf carts and active golfers on the runway sometimes.
