No, but outside of being easier to park, I never saw the advantage over a full sized truck. It's not like they get better fuel economy, they don't; they don't cost less, sometimes more; and you give up a lot of towing/hauling ability.

Agreed. Everyone wants a mid-size truck that gets at least 25MPG in mixed driving, they don't. The mileage champion is the 1/2 ton Ram diesel right now and it blows the top mid-size (Tacoma) away on fuel mileage.
Even a Toyota 4 Runner gets 17mpg on a good day.

Have you checked the brakes? Sounds like a brake or wheel bearing issue to me...... both easy and relatively cheap fixes...
